2017 T. D. Beckwith Honorary Award for Outstanding Contributions in Microbiology - Southern California

Dr. Beckwith was the first president (1936) of the Southern California Branch of the American Society for Microbiology. This award is a tribute to his vision for our society and annually honors a distinguished scientist for his/her contributions to advances in any area of microbiology and contributions to SCASM.
Eligible nominees must be an active member of SCASM for at least 10 years.
Complete and submit this form with a letter describing the nominee’s qualifications for the T.D. Beckwith Award by September 15, 2017. Nominations will be reviewed by the SCASM board.
The award recipient will be announced publicly at the 2017 SCASM Annual Meeting in San Diego, October 26-28, 2017 and will receive a Certificate of Recognition and $250.

SCASM will continue the tradition of supporting the winning students to present their posters at the 2018 ASM Microbe Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, June 7-11, 2018. A paid trip to the 2018 National ASM meeting will be awarded to the winner of the undergraduate, master's and PhD level division. Deadline for submitting the abstract is October 14, 2017.
